Welcome to the world of the Shih Tzu….The Shih Tzu’s ancestors lived in the Imperial palace having been given to the Emperor of China by buddhist monks. The Imperial Shih Tzus were held in high regard by the the Imperial families of China and they reveal this natural pride in the way they stand. The Imperial Shih Tzu is the ultimate companion dog. They are devoted to their owners and are very social. They are willing to learn and want to please their owners. They love to sit on their owners lap or at your feet but will be fine sitting near by or in a cage if that’s what the owner want’s. The Shih Tzu will sit patiently and wait for it’s owner and will excitedly welcome you home. They are known to be one of the most well tempered dogs available being that they are loving and docile protective and playful. They can be fun and playful when you want to play and will sit calmly near by if you are busy occasionally glancing over with adoring eyes. The Shih Tzu loves to play and once in a while will play with a toy alone. They love to run, chase toys, and play with their owners, they will make you laugh and forget your worries for a few moments which is a wonderful trait in a dog. Whether he’s flipping his toy into the air and then spinning around to see where it landed, or pretending to play fetch and then darting out of reach when you try to take back the toy, or gazing at you with an expression of seriousness and concern the Shih Tzu can dissolve your bad mood quickly, Your Shih Tzu brightens your day and puts a smile on your face and who wouldn’t want to be around that? For most people the Shih Tzu is the perfect pet.
